Sound Memorial: Celebrating the Lives of Those Lost to AIDS honours the voices, stories, and lives of Martin Bartlett, Dorian Corey, Cookie Mueller, Willi Ninja, Octavia St. Laurent, and Angie Xtravaganza. This installation seeks to reflect on the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and how homophobia, transphobia, racism, and other forms of discrimination by those in positions of power led directly to the unnecessary suffering and death of—predominantly—people of colour, 2SLGBTQ+ people, IV drug users and other minority groups.
